The service is managed by Robin Currie and Marie-Jo Gusset-Martinez who have extensive experience in the management, practice, training and funding of care services for older people as well as over 20 years experience of organising and leading successful European study visits. They plan to work with organisations to arrange group visits on key aspects of care services, tailored to meet their needs and interests.
Robin Currie says, “Study visits to leading European services for older people can give organisations a huge payback in terms of achieving change and improving quality.”
“Seeing innovative services in action, checking out ideas and having in-depth discussions with policy makers, providers, staff and older people brings inspiration, new ideas and improved quality to organisations. They learn first hand about what worked well, practical steps to implement changes, difficulties faced, mistakes made and how they have been overcome.”
Each study visit tour will be individually planned with visits to carefully chosen sites in a particular country or countries, selected to best explore the themes on interest to participants. Themes can include residential care, day services or home care; older people in the community and intergenerational activities; building design and assistive technology; dementia services; choice, empowerment, risk, safeguarding and ethics; informal carer support and respite care; staff development and training.
Study Visit groups may come from a single organisation: provider, commissioner or university, or include people coming together from different organisations, perhaps providers or partners who share an interest in a common issue.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”FIND OUT MORE” color=”warning” align=”center” link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.onestopsocial.co.uk%2Fsocial-care-directory%2Fsocial-care-card%2F%3FdID%3D421%26title%3D||target:%20_blank|rel:nofollow”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
