Social Link Recruitment, in partnership with The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain has sponsored ‘Hylands Primary School’ in Essex.
The initiative is called the ‘Barney & Echo Campaign’ and it aims to tackle the subject of Anti-Social Behaviour.
The Police Community Club of Great Britain is an organisation run by serving and retired police officers, who are looking to work with young people in the communities to tackle Anti-social behaviour. They realised that whilst there were avenues to help develop youth initiatives, there were only a few resources that focused solely on developing life skills and citizenship values, with the aims of reducing crime and disorder.
Citizenship is increasingly recognised by schools as a vital area of Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE). The Barney & Echo citizenship programmes have been specifically designed to support teachers and parents in addressing bullying, vandalism, drugs, alcohol, knife crime and other sensitive subjects with key stage 1 and 2 children.
“The ‘Barney and Echo Campaign’ is an excellent initiative that is currently running throughout schools within the UK and one that needs our support. With Anti-Social behaviour seemingly on the rise, we all need to do our bit to help those on the frontlines tackling these issues every day and I applaud Police Community Club of Great Britain, for creating an initiative that aims to build a foundation of values and skills from the ground up, with the aim of helping young people reach their full potential and become responsible citizens.” Royden Walters, Co-Director of Social Link Recruitment.
“When we were approached by The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain for the ‘Barney and Echo Campaign’ we jumped at the chance to help. As an agency with a core focus of People in need, along with the many people that may have experienced, or been subject to a form of Anti-social behaviour in the past or present, we felt that this was a fantastic initiative to help raise awareness around this subject at an early age, to develop the life skills that young people will need in years to come.” Amy Archer, Co-Director of Social Link Recruitment.
