Creative Living was set up by Kris Johnson and Matt Hughes in October 2019 and focuses on providing outstanding support and accommodation for those leaving care across the U.K. Their focus is on promoting positive outcomes for all young people.
Whilst a recently established service, Creative Living practitioners have over 30 years experience working with children and young people in the social work and care sector. They are already working with a number of Local Authorities across the North West.
The Creative Living Team
Creative Living comprises of social workers, managers and specialist practitioners in safeguarding, youth justice, substance misuse and mental health. This combination of specialist practitioners and multi-agency approach helps Creative Living offer a truly therapeutic support service that helps address all young people’s needs at an holistic level.
They provide semi inter-dependent support, floating support and 24/7 support and accommodation. In addition, young people in their care also receive the following support:
Creative Living offer in house psychologists, substance misuse and mental health support workers. By addressing individually tailored sessions, they aim to help all young people settle and move on in their care.
Life Skills Workbook – Learn Today. Shape Tomorrow
All young people working with Creative Living will have access to their our own individually tailored ‘Creative Living Skills Workbook’. The workbook utilises systemic and solution focused based practices aimed at assisting all young people in making inter-dependent living choices.
-Financial budgeting: which includes food shopping, utilities and household and living costs.
-Cooking, healthy eating, meal planning and preparation, including recipe guides.
-Healthy lifestyle and living choices.
-CV writing and interview preparation skills.
How to make a referral
Whilst Creative Living can accommodate referrals on an emergency basis, they are committed in supporting young people to the best of their ability. As such, they offer a planned transitional service that promotes engagement with and from young people, who are introduced to staff and the service prior to their move.
