Following on from our highly popular series of Safeguarding workshops, we have been fortunate enough to have Anita Lindon come along and give a refresher & important Case Law update.
Anita is a qualified social worker and Best Interests Assessor for Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (Dols). Until recently she was employed by Lancashire County Council as Mental Capacity Act Co-ordinator. In this role, Anita worked closely with social care, health and provider staff to implement and enhance MCA practice. Anita is now retired but remains committed to supporting good practice relating to MCA and deprivation of liberty. As well as offering sessions to One Stop Social, she also trains for Lancashire County Council and teaches at Uclan on the Dols BIA courses, as well as working with colleagues supporting young people.
The workshop will re-visit the basics of assessing capacity – when, how and who, and what to record as part of the assessment.
Information will be provided by presentation, handouts, case study group work and question and answers throughout the session.
There will also be an update of any relevant caselaw.
Please note: Networking Partnership Members get 20% discount for this course.
